Manager of the Ingenomix company FRANCE
Solange is the manager of Ingenomix company since 2016, who leads a small group of young researchers.
IngenomiX is a biotechnology company created by the French Limousin association and French Limousin Herd-Book to study the interest of genomic selection in the Limousin breed cattle.
Thanks to the combination of skills in biology, genetics, statistics and bioinformatics, IngenomiX is specialized in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) between phenotype and genotype and in engineering of DNA tests to offer genomic technology.
Ingenomix is situated in Pole de Lanaud, the headquarters of the limousin breed near Limoges.
In this place there are present the main structure working for the Limousin breed as France Limousin selection, that is responsible for the management of the breed selection decision and the Herd-Book that registers the animal’s pedigree. These organizations started to invest in genomic research in 2006. Genomic selection in the limousin breed has been experienced since 2011.
More than 50 000 animals have been evaluated.
