High level knowledge of the use of genome testing in limousine breeding will also reach Estonian limousine breeders at the end of August

Animal Breeders Association of Estonia together with Estonian Limousin breeders Club and Estonian Beef Breeders Association are organizing a practical training course in Estonia on the 24th – 26th of August – “Genetic evaluation in Limousin cattle breeding using the example of EvaLim tests”.

For the fourth year Estonian Limousin breeders are cooperating with France company INGENOMIX, where both male and female cattles are getting their EvaLim genetic profiles and breeding values are evaluated.

24th of August manager from Ingenomix, Solange Faurisson is explaining how these genetic profiles are made and how to use them. Heloise Vidament, expert from French Limousine Herd-Book will organize practical training to compare genotype and phenotype. This day will be held in Karitsu Ranch, Estonia.

 25th of August specialist from Växa (Sweden), Jenny Hansson is talking about her work as a breeding specialist, including using EvaLim tests. She is also presenting practical example of farm visit structure and farmer consultation in Topi Farm, Estonia.

26th of August we are visiting two more farms (Lahe Maamees OÜ and Struugade Hooldus MTÜ) and having there again farm consultation as an example, including discussions between participants.

Training course will be in English.
